Consequently, she went into public education after decades of business development, gem & mineral specialist, and Feng Shui/wellness consultant. Putting her many talents to educate adolescents with behavioral problems, conduct disorders, ADHD, anxiety, and the youth from the socio-economic deprived areas. Furthermore, she can communicate on a level beyond words.

She is respectful of the human's dignity and individuality. She considers the most rewarding aspect of her life, every time a teenager who does not believe in himself, finds a vision for his future, and finds that through discipline and effort they can achieve their dreams. As an educator, she is a former reading and behavior specialist, science educator and Department Lead chair for Special Education, Certified Adobe Education Trainer and Adobe Campus Leader, and Google Level 2 certified educator. Currently, she is motivating the youth with economic, personal finance, multimedia and web development. Also, offering local pro-bono tutoring to students who are at risk of school expulsion or dropping out without financial resources.

Courtney understands that human beings are more than their personal beliefs, formal education, attitude, ethnic groups, or yearly income. She has been practicing and studying for almost 30 years the Buddhist Zen teachings, Mindfulness philosophies, and meditation's techniques. She attended trainings including educator weekly retreats, meditations weekends at Thich Nhat Hahn's Blue Cliff Monastery and trained in restorative practices.

During her 3 years under Professor Lin Yun BTB training, she had the opportunity to meet and share meditations, weekly retreats, and workshops with monks and spiritual leaders. She feels blessed by the serenity, inner peace, clear mind, and patience mindfulness meditation and Zen practices grant to her.
